The perfect drink, with a fun story behind it!
THE STORY...
Ernest Hemmingway loved to wander throughout Italy and spent a great of time at Harry's American Bar in Venice. After a trip through the countryside, he burst into Harry's with a crate of white peaches on his shoulder, threw them on the bar and said, "These peaches are fantastic! You must find something good to do with them."
The bartender looked, smelled, tasted, shrugged, and finally peeled, pitted, and pureed the peaches. He dropped a dollop of the mixture into a Champagne glass and added Prosecco (a delightful, light Italian sparkling wine) and the Bellini was born!
OUR VERSION...
We use Stirrings Peach Bellini mix ($9.99 bottle) - which has the same ingredients (white peaches, sugar, juice, etc.)
It's a wonderful alternative to the Mimosa!
THE RECIPE...
1 part Stirrings Peach Bellini Mixer
4 parts Champagne or Sparkling Wine (e.g. Prosecco)
